Plaza Mijares
Plaza Mijares is the main plaza of San Jose del Cabo.  Uncluttered and unbustling, this is where inactivity rules supreme and an epitome of the city's ability to retain its distinct colonial atmosphere despite the load of heavy commercialization.

Estero San Jose
This estuary is definitely the best place for birdwatching in Baja California Sur as it's the only sure freshwater source in southern Baja.  Estero San Jose is located where the fresh waters of Rio San Jose converges with the salt waters of the sea, and this 125-acre of land has been vital to San Jose's environmental development throughout its history.

Cabo Pulmo
Cabo Pulmo has been designated a National Marine Preserve since 1993 in order to protect the underwater ecosystem.  The wonderful coral reefs under the crystalline water makes it one of the favorite spots for divers and snorkelers as well as kayakers.  The period from January through March also offers visitors an opportunity to catch a glimpse of migratory whales.

Todos Santos
The road from San Jose to Todos Santos is in good condition, and the beautiful view along the way make this 1-hour drive an exhilarating experience.  This is a crafty town where circles of avant-garde artists proudly set up their galleries for pleasure of anyone interested in the works of art.  Several stylish cafes and restaurants pepper the area, and the beaches here are excellent for swimming as well as sunbathing.

Playa Palmilla
Playa Palmilla is a serene bay area where snorkelers and divers can enjoy their active pursuit undisturbed by large crowds.  The Hotel Palmilla nearby also allows guests access to its facilities such as restaurants, bar areas and bathrooms.  A great alternative to other usually crammed beaches of Los Cabos.

Miraflores
The several hundred years old town of Miraflores is less than an hour drive north of San Jose del Cabo.  The soil here has contributed to the growth of some of the most incredible sweet basil on earth.  Visitors can take delight in visiting many local shops full of handcraft products, or opt to the natural Hot Springs which is just outside of town.

Santiago
Santiago is best known for its quality farming, lovely fruit orchards and the only zoo in Southern Baja.  The town is only about 60km north of Los Cabos airport.

San Antonio
This town was for a brief period of time the capital of Baja California Sur.  This is one of the place for visitors to get the look and feel of an old mining town with many historic buildings, church, and the remains of the depleted mines.

Buena Vista
Located right on Baja Highway 1, Buena Vista offers a great spot for active pursuit and exciting coastal adventure.  Many drivers pull up their cars here to enjoy swimming, windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing or just to relax and take in the laid-back atmosphere at one of the several restaurants along the highway.
