Anniversary of the Mexican Constitution
Every February 5th a parade in honor of the Mexican Constitution is held. The Parade marches through the downtown area of the city and end outside the City Hall and the Open Air Ampitheater.

Dia de los Reyes Margos
January 6th is the day Christmas gifts are exchanged in Mexico.  Many hotels in Puerto Vallarta offer a Three King Celebration for children with parties and gifts. Children can also go to downtown and visit the three kings who arrive in the Malecon.

Independence Day Celebration
The celebration of Independence Day is a big deal in Puerto Vallarta just like anywhere else in Mexico.  The event is marked by "Grito" or cry of independence, colorful parades, special events and parties throughout the city.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Festival
This Mexican festival is a hybrid between the Aztec and the Christian icon represented by the Lady of Guadalupe.  Many processions begin or end around the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and dance groups give their performance in the streets.

La Posada
La Posada is a candlelight processions in which participants re-enact the biblical story of Mary and Joseph's search for lodging on the eve of Nativity.  Parties are also held at several venues during this period.

Virgin of the Peace Day
Catholic churches and their adherents on the Bandera's Bay pay tribute to the Virgin every January 24th.  The Virgin Mary is acknowledged as the mother of the Prince of Peace, and this day is celebrated with processions and religious ceremonies as well as food and parties.

Jukebox Friday Night
A dance contest is sponsored every January by the Spotlight Productions of the city to collect funds for cultural activities around the Puerto Vallarta area.  Beside the dance contest, visitors can also enjoy the Hoola Hoop contests as well as a best costume contest.

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
The Day of the Dead's rituals include the visiting and cleaning of graveyards and celebrate the memories of their loved ones.  Unusual folk art items such as painted clay skulls, and edible skull-shaped confections can also be purchased as delectable memorabilia.

Friendship Day
Valentine in Mexico is a day to celebrate for friendship as much as for lovers.  All restaurants, bars and discos in Puerto Vallarta come alive with fun-packed parties and celebration.  Some venues also host contests and special discount on their food and drinks.

New Year's Eve Extravaganza
Puerto Vallarta welcomes the arrival of New Year in a big way.  There are all-night firework shows, parties, food and loads of entertainment. For a little plusher celebration, you can go on one of the cruises to get the best view of the liveliness of the bay as well.
